Our training teaches SQL from scratch or takes existing knowledge to the next level. Always practical, always with real data.
From SELECT to complex queries
Day 1: SELECT, WHERE, ORDER BY, GROUP BY, JOINs (the building blocks). Day 2: Subqueries, window functions, CTEs, temporary tables. Day 3: Performance optimization, indexing, execution plans.
Every concept immediately applied with real data sets. Participants have their own database instance for exercises.
SQL for different roles
Analyst: Focus on selection queries, aggregations, reporting queries. Developer: Schema design, transactions, stored procedures, ORM comparison. DBA: Performance tuning, backup strategies, monitoring.
We adapt the content to the roles of participants. Mixed groups also work. The basics are universal.
Which database system? PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server
We primarily teach standard SQL, which works on all systems. For in-house trainings, we focus on your specific database system.
Our recommendation for new projects: PostgreSQL. Open source, powerful, with excellent JSON support for modern applications.
Conclusion
SQL is the most important data language, and surprisingly quick to learn. After 3 days, participants independently write complex queries and understand database principles.
